River Modern Location Highlights

River Modern sits at 5 and 7 River Valley Green in District 9, on a parcel with about 186 m of frontage onto the Singapore River and Kim Seng Park. That frontage is the address’s defining feature: the park is under a minute’s walk from the arrival level, and the river path runs from the site towards Robertson Quay and the quays beyond it. The development also connects directly into Great World MRT Station on the Thomson East Coast Line, about 80 m from the Arrival Lounge to the fare gate and roughly a minute on foot, sheltered the whole way. River Valley Primary School is about a minute’s walk. Full particulars sit on River Modern Project Info.

Living Along the Singapore River

About 186 m of the site fronts the Singapore River and Kim Seng Park, and the park is under a minute away on foot. It is a walk out of the arrival level rather than a drive, which is what makes it a daily amenity rather than a weekend one.
The wider green options are a short drive. Fort Canning Park is about 5 minutes by car, the Singapore Botanic Gardens about 10, and Gardens by the Bay about 11. Following the river on foot instead takes you towards Robertson Quay, about 8 minutes’ walk, and on towards Clarke Quay and Boat Quay past that.
What a home actually looks out on is decided by its stack and its level rather than by the address, and the two towers face different things. Our Buyer’s Guide sets the orientation out stack by stack.
Connectivity from Great World MRT Station

The development connects directly into Great World MRT Station, about 80 m from the Arrival Lounge to the fare gate and about a minute’s walk under shelter. That connection is not an aspiration: the station’s Entrance 1 is to be integrated with the development, and its existing covered walkway is to be joined to a covered walkway built inside the site boundary. Great World is TE15 on the Thomson East Coast Line, which opened along this stretch in November 2022.
Counting stops on that line from Great World: Orchard is 1 stop, and it is where the North South Line can be picked up. Outram Park is 2 stops, and it is the interchange for both the East West Line and the North East Line. Marina Bay is 5 stops, and it carries the North South Line and the Circle Line. Stevens, 4 stops in the other direction, is the interchange for the Downtown Line. Those four are the changes worth knowing, because every one of them opens a different half of the network without a bus leg.
Two cautions on stop counts, both of which apply to this line specifically. Marina South sits between Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay and is built but not yet open, so any count that runs past Marina Bay is one higher on a map than it is in service. And the Thomson East Coast Line does not serve the Singapore Botanic Gardens at all; the station nearest those grounds on this line is Napier, which is a different place with a different name.
For drivers, the Central Expressway is about 8 minutes away.
Shopping, Dining and Everyday Needs

Daily needs. Great World adjoins the development and connects to it directly. It is a neighbour rather than a facility of the condominium, and it is not part of the development, but the practical effect is that the basement supermarket is about 270 m from the Arrival Lounge, roughly 3 minutes on foot.
On foot. Zion Riverside Food Centre is about 5 minutes’ walk, Robertson Quay about 8, and New Bahru about 9. Those three are the reason the address works without a car in the evening.
By car. Tiong Bahru Market and Food Centre is about 4 minutes, Funan and the Orchard Road shopping belt about 5 each, Raffles City Shopping Centre about 7 and Marina Bay Sands about 9.
Schools
River Valley Primary School is about a minute’s walk, and the nearest point of Tower 5 stands about 38 m from it. The walk is sheltered end to end, and it is worth knowing how: a high covered linkway already runs to the school entrance and is being retained, a 3.6 m covered walkway is required inside the development boundary, and the covered linkways joining the two across the road reserve are part of the works the development has to build and hand over. The sheltered route is therefore partly standing today and partly completed with the development, rather than a claim resting on the marketing material.
Alexandra Primary School is about 5 minutes by car, St. Margaret’s School (Primary) about 7 and Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) about 9.
Read those as travel times and nothing more. Priority registration under the Ministry of Education is decided by straight line distance from the home to the school, not by how long the drive takes, and the two measures do not track each other. Anyone buying with a specific school in mind should check the distance on the Ministry’s own tool rather than infer it from a minute figure here.
Work, Culture and the City
The Central Business District is about 5 minutes by car, Marina Bay Financial Centre about 7, Guoco Tower about 8 and Suntec Singapore about 9.
On the cultural side, Chinatown is about 5 minutes by car, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall and the National Gallery Singapore about 6 each, the ArtScience Museum about 9 and the Esplanade about 10.
